Genetic & Epigenetic Capacity

Can Lifestyle Inputs Be Reflected in Biological Aging at the Epigenetic Level?

A large randomized clinical-trial analysis published in Nature Aging examined DNA-methylation measures of biological aging in older adults receiving vitamin D, omega-3 fatty acids and/or exercise. The study is valuable for my framework because it demonstrates that epigenetic measurements are not merely theoretical markers of aging; they can be examined longitudinally in relation to defined biological and lifestyle inputs.

This directly supports an important principle of Genetic & Epigenetic Capacity: inherited DNA sequence is only one component of biological capacity. Epigenetic regulation provides another layer through which biological state and environmental inputs can be reflected over time.
