New Research Shows Biological Risk Can Begin Decades Before Disease

A 2026 study of young adults found that nearly 8 in 10 showed signs within the cardiovascular-kidney-metabolic (CKM) spectrum, with higher stages associated with early changes in arterial structure. The findings reinforce an important message: biological changes can be developing long before a disease is diagnosed.

This is one of the central concepts explored in The Standardized Science of Personalized Wellness. The book introduces the 8 Domains of Wellness™, a systems-based framework for understanding how interconnected biological functions contribute to wellness over time—and why looking beyond isolated symptoms and individual organs may provide a more complete picture of our biological trajectory.

If we wait for disease to appear before paying attention to biology, we may be starting the conversation too late.
